Spanish territory from Morocco, authorities have said, in the latest
wave of desperate arrivals at Europe's southern border. Most of them were intercepted on the way by Moroccan security forces and a group of about 50 who got close to the fence were seen off by Spanish police backed by a helicopter. |

Kurdish fighters in the battle for the Syrian town of
Kobane weathered a fresh onslaught by fighters from the Islamic State
of Iraq and the Levant as they awaited promised reinforcements from
Iraq. The Kurdish militia faced fierce attacks on Tuesday, fresh from heavy battles on Monday evening in which ISIL appeared to be trying to cut off the border with Turkey before the reinforcements could arrive. This account is according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, who also reported that coalition forces carried out further air strikes overnight, following weeks of attacks in and around Kobane. Ankara's announcement on Monday that it would facilitate Kurdish forces from Iraq crossing its border with Syria to relieve Kobane's beleaguered defenders marked a major shift of policy and was swiftly welcomed by the US. |

death last year, a US-based rights group said, shedding rare light on a
statistic Beijing tries to keep a state secret. The Dui Hua Foundation said on Tuesday that the figure had gone down by 20 percent since 2012, but China is so sensitive about the issue that it has done nothing to publicise the decline in its use of the death penalty. |

The police in Enugu state have arrested one Ozoemena Nwankwo,
described as a serial wife beater, for allegedly beating his 4-month
pregnant wife, Ndidi, to death at their Akpawfu
village residence in Nkanu-East Local Government Area in Enugu on
October 17th, Vanguard reports.

While most commended Joshua for his humility and humanity, there were suggestions that the picture was ‘photo-shopped’. Others insinuated the image was nothing but a tasteless publicity stunt in the light of the recent tragedy that befell The SCOAN where over 100 died in a building collapse.
As a viewer of Emmanuel TV, I have actually seen the video clip of this particular humanitarian mission previously and managed to find the footage on YouTube. For clarification, this did not take place after the tragedy last month, putting to rest the allegation that this was an ill-timed publicity feat. So, for all the doubters and skeptics, here is video evidence of Pastor T.B. Joshua carrying three bags of rice in one of his numerous philanthropic visits to less-privileged areas.
