Facebook will now block ads from pages spreading fake news
Fake news have ravaged the world for a long time now. This coupled with the fact that the world is now a global village with such fluid transfer of information regardless of distance, makes transmission of fake news so easy. All it takes to go viral is to generate headlines so artificial yet very interesting and before you know it such headlines are flying all around the world as real news. But Facebook is clamping down on this.
Facebook has rolled out a stretch of defenses against fake news. With the new structure in place, once Facebook’s security team indicts you of sharing fake stories many times, such page would be shut down from advertising on the giant social media platform. Facebook is able to put these prohibitive steps in place against fake news by means of third-party fact-checking bodies. With this, Facebook is able to tell if your story is false or not. With the already existing rules in Facebook, advertisers are disallowed from running ads associated with fake news. But this new step makes Facebook’s tolerance for fake news thinner.
Via means of a blog post, Facebook announced that it is clasping down on fake news saying “instances of Pages using Facebook ads to build their audiences in order to distribute false news more broadly.” Fake news can now keep a good distance from monetized pages. Once banned if the page shows repentance and stops running ads, Facebook may pardon it and allow it run ads again.
Instagram now lets you view Stories on the web
Instagram is bringing on the capacity for desktop and mobile web users to view stories. With this development coming up, such category of users will be able to view ephemeral posts on computers or devices with increased screen sizes. This updates enhances navigation with arrows. So you don’t necessarily have to do the left right directional tapping before you move your way between stories and posts.
In no time, users would gain the capacity to upload stories through the mobile web. This has its added advantages especially for those persons who strenuously have to make edits to their videos and images before they are shared as stories. Microsoft’s new Mixer mobile app enables you enjoy streaming games from Android and iOS

Microsoft is spicing things up with its innovative Mixer mobile app. This feature enables the user to stream mobile gamers on both its Android and iOS platforms. These android apps will allow you stream mobile games just in the same way you can do with Youtube.
The iOS counterpart will allow you stream games on your iPhone by means of Apple’s ReplayKit. The implication in this case would be that not all games would be supported on iOS but a good part of famous iOS games like Goat Simulator, Modern Combat 5, Star Trek Timelines will align with this new feature from Microsoft.

HMD confirms Android 8.0 update for all Nokia Android smartphones

WhatsApp reinvents text-based Status in update

Instagram now gives you the ability to post landscape and portrait photo albums
Social media is always evolving,np right? Yeah that is very necessary considering how we easily get appalled with monotonous services. Hence the regular additions to social media platforms to keep up the excitement.
Instagram is notorious for always bringing something new. And the freshest one is the feature that allows you to post photo albums having portrait pictures and landscape pictures. Something close to this feature was released some months back in February. But there was a limitation in that version, we could only post square-format photos which pretty seemed archaic. It is cool Instagram has modernized it now and you will be able to post images to formats of your preference. You no longer have to compulsorily crop images to a square.
The only disadvantage we could see to this feature is that you may have to strictly adhere to the picture format you choose. But it is all good. It looks great posting portrait pictures on Instagram especially as it takes up the whole screen. And it is cooler as you can post many of such pictures all at once. Same customary Instagram though, 10 photos at most in one album.
Samsung’s acting chief Lee Jae-yong to be sentenced for 5 years for corruption
So sad in our country, the corruption war is always blowing hot and cold. The battle against embezzlement is more verbal and practical as the mighty seem above the law. It is popular saying that the maggi thief gets beaten to death while the budget thief is gloriously honored. But this is not the same everywhere. In some other countries, the big shots still answer to the law and still see in the inside of prisons for corruption.

Samsung‘s acting chief has been convicted of bribery and embezzlement after a trial that extended across six months. Lee is deputizing for his ill father who was also convicted of fraud. He too was sentenced but was eventually granted state pardon.
Lee who initially denied the charges now stands to face 5 years jail sentence although hard line prosecutors are pushing for a 12 years in jail term. Lee Jay-yong’s investigation uncovered hideous intertwine of the of erstwhile president Park Geun-Hye who is also facing trial. Lee faced accusations from prosecutors of enormously bribing Park Geun-Hye to lend support to seemingly mergers of Samsung affiliates. That push helped to reinforce Lee’s position as Samsung’s head.
