DPO dies in Bauchi

A Superintendent of Police, with the Bauchi State Police Command, Andy Audu, died on Friday, the command has said.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Haruna Mohammed, made available to journalists in Bauchi on Saturday, indicated that the deceased, who was the Divisional Police Officer of Kirfi Division, died after a brief illness.

He added that his body had been deposited at the Mortuary for postmortem.


He said: “The Bauchi State Police Command regrets to announce the sudden death of the DPO, Kirfi Division, SP Andy Audu, who was certified dead by a medical doctor at ATBU Teaching hospital, Bauchi on Friday at about 22:00hrs (10pm), after a brief illness.

“His corpse was deposited at the Mortuary for postmortem examination.

“He was born in 1967 and joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet inspector in 1992.

“He will be buried at his hometown, Otukpo in Benue State on the August 29.

“May his soul rest in peace.”
