Bow Wow Drops Name, Now To Be Called 'Shad Moss'

American rapper, actor and television host, Bow Wow has announced on social media that he will be dropping his Bow Wow brand and now wants to be referred to by his real name 'Shad Moss' or better still Mr. Moss.

ANNOUNCEMENT: After BET awards i will no longer go by Bow Wow! Im going by my real name “Shad Moss” we made alot of history as bow wow. Now its time for the next chapter and challenge. Bow wow does not fit who i am today. Ima father, business man, TV host, Actor, and rapper! Time for MR Moss to take over!

It will be recalled that in 2002, the then 15-year-old rapper chose to distinguish himself from the likes of Lil’ Wayne, Lil’ Kim, Lil’ Cease, Lil’ Romeo, Lil’ Zane and Lil’ J by dropping the first word from his moniker. He said on April 4, 2002, that “I changed my name because I’m getting older now and it’s too many Lil's." “All these Lil’ rappers, I’m just kind of getting real irritated by it. I said, ‘You know what? Drop the Lil’. Forget it. I’m Bow Wow.’ Besides, I’m growing up, I’m not little anymore. [I just decided] two weeks ago. I really got irritable. It’s all these Lil’ cats, forget it. I’m Bow Wow now. Everything is just ‘Bow Wow,’ no ‘Lil’ Bow Wow.”
